The course Understanding Inflammation introduces the fundamental concepts of inflammation, its definition, purpose, and different types. It explores the key differences between acute and chronic inflammation and explains the roles of various cells and chemical mediators involved in the inflammatory response. Learners will understand the vascular events that occur during inflammation, including changes in blood vessels and blood flow. The course also covers cellular events, such as the movement and activation of immune cells at sites of injury or infection. By the end of this course, learners will have a foundational understanding of the mechanisms and processes involved in inflammation.
This course has been curated by Riphah International University faculty and staff using publicly available third-party content and Open Educational Resources (OER) for self-paced learning. Learners will engage with curated open-access materials to achieve the course learning outcomes.
